PRIVACY POLICY FREETECH ACADEMY

We are very pleased about your interest in freetech academy. With this privacy policy, we inform you about the nature, scope and purpose of the personal data we process and your rights as a data subject.

2. ACCESSING THE WEBSITE

When you use our offer, we set absolutely necessary cookies and collect and process the following information to enable the usability of the provided functions and to ensure the security and stability of our offer. Cookies are small text files that are transmitted from the Internet to your computer together with the data actually requested. This data is stored there and kept ready for later retrieval. 3. APPLICATION

As part of the application process for the FreeTech Axel Springer Academy of Journalism and Technology! we receive personal data from you, such as your name, your contact details and your completed application form, which you submitted to us in your online application. This personal data is initially entered unchanged into our internal application portal. In addition, the e-mail inbox for online applications and the applicant management system in which your data is stored are protected against access. All our employees are obliged to maintain confidentiality and data secrecy.

The data collected from you in connection with your application is processed for the purpose of establishing an employment relationship (implementation of the application process, initiation of an employment relationship). The legal basis for this is Article 88 (1) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 (1), (8) sentence 2 BDSG.

In the event that you have provided us with a declaration of consent for the processing of your data, the further legal basis is Art. 88 (1) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 (2), (8) sentence 2 BDSG.

Your data will only be used for the purpose of your application to FreeTech Axel Springer Academy of Journalism and Technology! Collected and processed.

4. NEWSLETTER

If you have ordered one of our mailings or newsletters, we will use your email address to send you the newsletter you ordered. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future or unsubscribe from the ordered newsletter, e.g. by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided for this purpose in each newsletter.

5. DATA TRANSFER

Unless otherwise stated in this privacy policy, we will only transfer your personal data to third parties if the transfer is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you and this is obviously done with or together with another provider, we are otherwise legally entitled or obligated to transfer the data, or you have given us your consent to do so.

6. PLACE OF PROCESSING

We also process personal data in countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”), including the USA. To ensure an adequate level of data protection, we make use of the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses pursuant to Article 46 (2) (c) of the GDPR when structuring contractual relationships with the services used in third countries, unless an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists for the respective third country: standard contractual clauses pursuant to Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914 of June 4, 2021 on standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data to third countries in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

7. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

In order to be able to offer our service and to ensure the security of the offer, the use of certain cookies and similar technologies is required (Essential). Multilingualism of the website

To enable multilingualism on our website, we use the WPML language plugin from OnTheGoSystems Limited, 22/F 3 Lockhart Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong (hereinafter WPML). Cookies from WPML are set solely to recognize and record the language used or selected by the user. These cookies remain stored for one year and are then deleted. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

8. WEB ANALYSIS SERVICES

We use the web analytics service Matomo to analyze and review the use of our website. The statistics obtained allow us to improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user.

We operate Matomo in a version that does not require cookies. Therefore, no Matomo cookies are stored on your computer for the purpose of web analysis. For the analysis of website usage, your IP address and information such as timestamp, visited web pages and your language settings are collected. We store the information collected in this way on our server.

This website uses Matomo with the extension “AnonymizeIP”. This means that IP addresses are processed in a shortened form and a direct reference to a person is excluded. The IP address transmitted by your browser via Matomo is not merged with other data collected by us.

The legal basis for the use of Matomo is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DS-GVO.

9. SOCIAL PLUGINS

There are no social media plugins integrated on this website that directly load data from the servers of the social media providers concerned. The integrated “plugins” are rather simple links to the relevant third-party sites, which we illustrate with corresponding graphics. A transmission of personal data to the operator of the social media service by the known plugins therefore does not take place.

10. INSTAGRAM

We use components of the service Instagram. Instagram is a service that qualifies as an audiovisual platform and allows users to share photos and videos and also to redistribute such data in other social networks. The operator of Instagram is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter Instagram). Further information and the applicable privacy policy of Instagram can be found at https://help.instagram.com/519522125107875/?helpref=hc_fnav.

However, this website does not integrate Instagram in such a way that data is loaded directly from Instagram’s servers. The embedded Instagram links are rather simple links to the respective Instagram pages, which we ourselves only display with corresponding graphics. A transmission of personal data to the operator of Instagram therefore does not take place.

11. STORAGE PERIOD

We process personal data only as long as this is necessary for the purpose stated above. The personal data will then be deleted, provided that no legal retention periods conflict with data deletion.

Information and correction

The supervisory authority to which the complaint has been submitted will inform the complainant of the status and outcome of the complaint, including the possibility of a judicial remedy.
